time for a design team reveal! (with a prize)

so we have had some exciting news, our guest dt this week tish aka artgirl1 has become a permanent dt member!

Hi! My name is Tish and I live in the “southern part of heaven” – home of the Tar Heels! I have two wonderful teenage daughters, ages 16 and 18; 1 dog and 3 cats. My older daughter is a freshman in college, and my younger daughter is a senior in High School.

I started scrapbooking about 12 years ago. I was invited to a crop and brought only photos and scissors, but went home with several completed pages! I knew I was hooked. I was in graduate school at the time and found scrapping to be a wonderful way to relax and let my creativity take over after all the math and accounting classes.

I have always loved photography – I still remember that first little Kodak camera when I was 8 years old. I loved taking photos. Now I am trying to learn how to use a new Nikon digital SLR!

I LOVE (I guess you could call it an “addiction”) papers. They can be solid, printed, smooth or textured. I can remember having this same feeling about fabrics. I was about 10 years old when my mom taught me how to sew. I fell in love with fabrics, laces, ribbons, and buttons.

I would describe my style as Evolutionary – constantly evolving. I enjoy trying new techniques and using new embellishments. I am also learning to incorporate a number of other crafts into my scrapbooks: rubber stamps, cross-stitch, crochet, and machine sewing.

I receive so much satisfaction when I make something and give it as a gift – and the recipient (usually my mother or daughters) displays it proudly!
